Sasuke relaxed on top of Naruto. ”You’re also my husband. But that’s not as interesting as anything else I’ve said.”
Hand fell to a porcelain cheek. “I don’t know… I think it is dattebayo! My life would be completely different if you weren’t here, ya know? At least… On my end, heh.”
(◡‿◡✿) give me my hearttebayo back
(◕‿◕✿) before I kill you
"Hn. But imagine how much more amazing it will be when you become Hokage. Straight from gennin to the leader of the village. Kind of amazing."
Expression calmed at the raven’s comment. “I guess that would be pretty cool, huh?”

Too hard to keep— to keep— to keep——
Wait. To keep my sanity alive here. So maybe if I don’t speak then they will stop. Maybe they— I don’t want to speak so don’t make me. My thoughts are- no- yes my thoughts they… are MY OWN. So I won’t share with you what I may be thinking. It doesn’t matter. I don’t matter. So shut up or I’ll—-
Dark eyes were hazy as they finally opened upon painful white. So horrendous it was, beating across barely coherent mind- though he did notice he had gained the energy to walk to where they were allowed during the afternoons. Sitting alone, near the window and gazing out to a sky that he would never be allowed to touch- a cold chill of death taking a hold of the raven that refused to speak. Pallid lips parted as if to allow sound but instead there was nothing but a sigh to show that indeed this body still lived, past the medication- past this asylum. Past what the doctors had decided was a brain not worthy of thought or even capable. A gentle hum reverberating in his throat at the idea. Perhaps they were right, it was difficult to know— perhaps he simply didn’t care. Sasuke hunched more to his knees, holding them as if they were the sole security the shattered soul had, processes becoming heavy as he felt the usual bout of indifference and sleep slowly coming to claim him.
Though suddenly from peripheral vision there was something not so usual- in fact quite new to a daily life of which he had become accustomed. Body going rigid at such bright eyes- blue of which he had only seen through glass and a blond that surely was not supposed to exist apart from the sun. And so he stared, quietly and unreadable upon the other man that he did not know. Though before this could be noticed that searching gaze was promptly ripped away- returning to his own thoughts. Suddenly desperate for that sleep that had alluded him.
From the blazes of hell…
How long? How long had it been since those thoughts lingered around his mind? Was it being here that brought them back? Were they even his thoughts? Head shook back and forth, trying to eliminate anything that seemed to threaten his state of mind. Words always seemed to circle around his mind when his attention was focused on a particular presence. For weeks on end, the blond couldn’t help but allow his curiosity to get the best of him over the one called Sasuke. He remembered when he first started working here, the aura that the raven emanated had completely grabbed a hold of him and he couldn’t forget it.
Now, he made it part of his routine to at least stop by and see him. Never in a million years did he expect to be this interested in a specific individual, especially in an asylum out of all places. Maybe one day he could talk to him, but for now, a piece of glass separated them. Ocean pools stared through the transparent window for a moment, hoping that the other wouldn’t notice him. Then, without warning, he noticed the dark haired male shift, causing the young blond to quickly resume the cleaning work he was instructed to do.
Act casual… Act casual.
The mop swiveled back and forth on the white floor, his focus completely on that. He could hear footsteps in the distance, familiar ones that belonged to the people that ran this place. All day he heard those… What kind of people were they? Sometimes, Naruto wondered why he chose to work in a place like this due to not knowing anything about the building or even the field. Deep, questioning thoughts were quickly interrupted when he noticed the steps only getting closer and closer, only to enter the very room his interest lied.
That was one of the things he didn’t want to hear anymore but was so often there. He hoped with all his heart that they wouldn’t come from that room.
"It got ripped, dattebayo! And IM cold!" That was a totally reasonable reason to take his twin’s, and he tugged on the other’s impatiently, already half getting it off his shoulders.
"What am I supposed to do if you take it then? I’m going to be cold too twin!" He protested. "Maybe we can share or something, ya know? That would work, right?"
He shrugged. ”I don’t have to. But, I like to.”
"Well, cut it out! I don’t need to be reminded that I’m only a genin dattebayo!"
That was a hit he hadn’t expected. Hands immediately fell to his now throbbing cranium, the need to say something arising. Who the hell was she to hit him like that?
Then… Something caught his attention, something that caused his heart to clench and his emotions to fill with a happiness he hadn’t known for so long but craved.
Head lifted, taking in the presence of the woman more and more while slowly realizing who it possibly was.
It couldn’t be…
Tears welled up within his eyes and before he knew it, steps moved on their own, only to find himself wrapped around the one person he’d wanted to meet his entire life.
"You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to meet you, kaa-chan."
"Of course you are." Sasuke counted on his fingers behind Naruto’s head as his arms here out stretched behind the blond. "You’re a jinchuuriki, the son of a Hokage, the hero of the village, the direct student of one of the Legendary Sannin, and, you’re probably the oldest gennin alive,"
The genin comment caught his attention. “Do you have to remind me of that, Sasuke?”
Oh, he knew who she was. “Ne, you’re that fox dattebayo! You won’t fool me with that disguise!”
"Why not? You’re much more interesting than I am."
"Heh, you really think so? I don’t dattebayo!" Arms wrapped around his lover’s neck, keeping him close.
